Korgul made his way south to Neverwinter from the wild reaches of Many-Arrows with an emissary of the Many-Arrows orcs named Lagosh. Lagosh was meant to speak with Vansi, the commander of a band of Many-Arrows orcs that had taken up residence in the Black Lake district. After meeting the party Lagosh made a deal with the Heir and sent Korgul to join the group as an ambassador for the orc nation and to keep tabs on the progress of his move to power.
While with the group, Korgul felled a mighty werewolf named Tarrin in the Neverwinter Wood. With his final dying action the wolf bit Korgul, passing the curse of lycanthropy onto the monk. With his last breath Tarrin said that Korgul had proven worthy to carry his “gift.”
